Santa Marta’s marina will welcome the largest nautical rally in the world
For the first time and for the next five consecutive years Santa Marta’s marina will welcome the World ARC 2015 Rally (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers). It is considered the largest nautical rally in the world. The fleet will arrive in Colombia’s shores on January 15, 2015.

Santa Marta, located in the Colombian Caribbean, will be the first stop of the World ARC 2015 Rally (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers). This is the first time that this rally makes a stop in Colombian coastlines. It is part of the national strategy to position Colombia as a nautical tourism destination.

The rally organized by the World Cruising Club, will begin its journey on the island of St. Lucia gathering 50 vessels that will travel together for 15 months and nearly 26,000 nautical miles.

Medellin, Host of the Nature Tourism Business Matchmaking Forum

During September 25th-26th, Antioquia’s capital welcomed 41 international wholesalers who held business meetings with 74 Colombian tour operators attending the Colombia Nature Travel Mart Business Matchmaking Forum.

 

 

A total of 41 international wholesalers from 10 countries met on Thursday and Friday in Medellin at the Colombia Nature Travel Mart, a Business Matchmaking Forum specialized in the promotion of Colombia’s nature tourism.

During their two-day visit to Medellin with the support of PROCOLOMBIA, this group of international entrepreneurs held business meetings with a host of 59 Colombian tour operators from 18 departments specialized in nature tourism.

The 2014-2015 cruise season was officially launched this Friday in Cartagena with the presence of Cecilia Alvarez Correa, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, and Maria Claudia Lacouture, President of PROCOLOMBIA, among other important figures.

During the event in the Pegasos Hall in the Julio Cesar Turbay Ayala International Conventions Center located in the city, the 187 landfalls confirmed to date by large and deluxe tourism vessels were announced.

The country moved up one spot to 28th place in the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) world classification. Colombia has advanced six spots since 2010.

Bogota, May 13th. (Pxp). Colombia’s positioning as an event destination kept a positive trend in 2012, as it ranked in 28th place out of 109 in the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) world classification.

The organization pointed out that last year Colombia climbed up one spot in their ranking, issued based on the number of international conventions and congresses held at the more of a hundred ICCA member countries.
