Eight companies have the task of taking the best videogames Colombia has to offer to the most important event in Europe.

The Colombian videogame industry have a healthy participation in Gamescom 2016, a fair that eight local companies are visiting, and using this opportunity to take their products to consumers and establish commercial relations with some of the largest company of this industry at a global level.

Colombia has consolidated as a world-class player in the videogame industry. With sales of US$264 million, the country is ranked as the fourth most important country in this industry in Latin America.

Colombia's IT and digital content campaign "Colombia Bring IT On" continues to make its rounds of matchmaking forums in North America gathering more than 80 buyers from Mexico, Canada, and the US during a two-day agenda that includes academic sessions with top industry leaders and more than 1,000 business meetings.

100 Colombian companies from the IT and digital content industry are expected to attend the Colombia Bring it on -  On tour Business Matchmaking Forum in Miami, FL on September 8th and 9th at the Diplomat hotel (3555 S Ocean Drive. Hollywood) during its third edition in North America. The event aims to showcase Colombian suppliers along with its campaign that began in 2013 when it was first launched in New York City.

ProColombia and the Colombian Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications will launch the “Colombia Bring IT On” campaign to promote the country’s growing IT, Software and Digital services with an event in Toronto next month.

A year ago, Colombia launched its “Colombia Bring IT On” campaign to promote the country’s growing IT, Software and Digital services sector with a high-profile event in New York City that gathered hundreds of entrepreneurs and buyers under one roof with a conference and business matchmaking forum. Next month, the ambitious campaign will launch in Canada with a similar event in Toronto, hosted by ProColombia and the Colombian Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications. ProColombia presented the sectors that have identified as potential investment opportunities for South Koreans, such as infrastructure, road development and BPO.

The president of ProColombia, María Claudia Lacouture met with Colombian businessmen in South Korea to show trade opportunities between the two countries in the South Korea, Latin America and The Caribbean Business Summit.

FTA Between European Union and Colombia completes
Tuesday 11th December 2012, the free trade agreement (FTA) between Colombia and the European Union (EU) has been approved by the European Parliament in Brussels.

The completion of the FTA will open Colombia up to an additional 503 million consumers across 27 countries. Research shows that the consumption of a 'Euro consumer' is close to USD 32,000 - four times that of Colombia, so a significant new buying power.

With this agreement, Colombia is predicted to not only witness a rise in the exports of goods and services, but to attract more European investment and serve as a platform for other countries in the region without agreement with the Europeans.

From August 2011 to July of this year, a total of 66 investment projects from 15 countries were undertaken, thanks to PROCOLOMBIA's work carried out to bring investors to Colombia, stated the entity.

This is the result of the international promotion of Colombia as destination for direct foreign investment in sectors other than Mine and Energy, which also generated 329 opportunities in 14 provinces.
