Second Edition of the LATAM Orlando and Tampa Bay Port 2025 Business Roundtable Kicks Off

Inicio de la agenda académica del LATAM Trade Show en Orlando, Fl.

A key platform to strengthen exports and create new business alliances in Florida.

Orlando, FL, February 11, 2025. The General Consulate of Colombia in Orlando, with the support of ProColombia and the Embassy of Colombia in the United States, announces the launch of the second edition of the LATAM Orlando and Tampa Bay Port 2025 Business Roundtable. This business meeting is designed to boost international trade and open new opportunities in the strategic Florida market.

This event is particularly significant given the growth in Colombia’s non-mining energy exports to the United States, which reached USD 6.954 billion in 2024—an 11% increase compared to 2023—with more than 2,500 Colombian companies exporting to the U.S. market.

Taking place from February 11 to 13, the business roundtable is a joint effort between the consulates of Colombia, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. It will bring together 140 companies from these three countries, representing sectors such as agribusiness, snacks and beverages, cosmetics, auto parts, resins, and health and environmental technology. Key buyers from the Florida market, including distributors and retail chains, will also participate.

“We are committed to keep positioning Colombia, the Country of Beauty, as a strategic trade partner for the United States. We are thrilled to have 48 Colombian companies presenting a high-value offering to over ten distributors, in sectors like agriculture, health, and technology. We invite U.S. buyers to see Colombia as a reliable supplier of high-quality goods and services,” said Carmen Caballero, president of ProColombia.

It is worth noting that during the first edition of this Business Roundtable in April 2024, significant results were achieved for Colombia: USD 70,000 in immediate business deals,

USD 248,000 in short-term business expectations (1 to 3 months), USD 277,000 in business projected beyond six months.

The program begins on February 11 in Orlando, with an opening ceremony, presentations on bilateral business opportunities, and an inaugural reception with the participation of ProColombia representatives, local authorities, and prominent entrepreneurs from the three countries.

On February 12, the Business Roundtable will be set up at the Port of Tampa, and on February 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., all participants will have scheduled meetings with potential distributors, ensuring the success of this important business initiative. This final day will also feature the official ribbon-cutting and protocol speeches by the organizers.

César González, General Consul of Colombia in Orlando, commented “We are excited to offer an event of great value for our entrepreneurs, which will undoubtedly strengthen the economies of our countries and the state of Florida.”
