"I want to be a spokesman in Portugal and throughout Europe of the great U-20 World Cup which is going to take place in our country, and will be one as never seen before in the history of FIFA," said Radamel Falcao García, during the presentation of the Colombia’s promotion strategy for the Youth World Cup.

With this statement, the famous Colombian striker, winner of the recent Europe League with Portugal’s Porto, joined the international promotion strategy for the U-20 World Cup led by PROCOLOMBIA with the support of the Tourism Promotion Fund of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism.

Alongside Falcao will be Óscar Córdoba, one of the greatest goalkeepers in the history of Colombian football, who joined a tour with PROCOLOMBIA through major cities in Latin America to showcase the country’s tourism potential for the tournament.

“The goal is to offer tour packages so hundreds of tourists who will visit our country can feel at home. We will be joining the international promotion strategy that will take us to Brazil, Venezuela and Argentina, inviting everyone to experience football fest in our country,” said Cordoba.

On Tuesday, the tour arrives in Caracas, Venezuela, on Wednesday, June 1, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and on Friday June 3, in Buenos Aires, Argentina

The promotion action plan began by inviting international journalists to Colombia and the distribution of information and tourism material on the eight cities, through 18 PROCOLOMBIA commercial offices around the world.

Falcao García's message sums up the intention of the campaign: “Colombia is special for its scenery and destinations, but mainly because of the love of our people. So I want everyone to experience this football fest and for many tourists to visit us because we are Colombia, the world's happiest country. When a foreigner visits our country, the only risk is wanting to stay.”

The tour started on May 23 and has stopped over in Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama and Ecuador with a mission of tourism businessmen and local promotion agencies.
