The meetings seek to identify opportunities to promote the city and the province to support the internationalization of the region.

In order to identify opportunities for the diversification of exports, the achievement of direct foreign investment and the promotion of Barranquilla and the region as an international tourist destination, PROCOLOMBIA launched its meetings this Thursday with the local authorities and regional guilds.

At the Barranquilla Chamber of Commerce facilities, the President of PROCOLOMBIA, Maria Claudia Lacouture; the Governor of Atlantico, Eduardo Verano de la Rosa, and the President of CCB, Luis Fernando Castro, are analyzing the actions to take in the short, mid and long term, and the sectors in which to promote the opportunities offered by the city and the province.

Opportunities in BPO, service outsourcing, bilingualism, fostering the strengthening of SMEs and MiPymes (my SMEs), as well as alternatives for the diversification and promotion of tourism for the Under-20 Soccer World Cup this year are, among others, the topics for discussion.

“It is important to identify the realm of projects and opportunities Barranquilla and the entire province have to offer to achieve proper promotion of the region abroad. The goal of these encounters is to produce concrete action items to enable us to place these opportunities on the international radar," explained the President of PROCOLOMBIA, Maria Claudia Lacouture.

Also attending the encounter are the Vice President of Export for PROCOLOMBIA, Ricardo Vallejo, the Vice President of Tourism for PROCOLOMBIA, Juan Arbelaez; the Provincial Development Secretary, Luis Humberto Martinez; the Mayor’s delegate, Hernan Maestre; the Director of Probarranquilla, Tabana Orozco; the Special Projects Manager for the Mayor's Office, Madeleine Certain; the Manager of Ernesto Cortizzos Airport, Raul Rivera; the Entrepreneurship Director of the Barranquilla Chamber of Commerce, Karina Quintero, and the projects manager at CCB, Claudia Dacunia.
