From the week of December 5th to the 11th 2011, PROCOLOMBIA will participate in the following national and international events.

34 Colombian companies are visiting Silicon Valley Business Networking 2011
1. For three days, a group of 34 Colombian software and digital content entrepreneurs will look for new business partners at Silicon Valley, the technology heart of the world, from December 7 to 9.
At the event, organized by PROCOLOMBIA, there will be a Business Encounter, which is planned to take place on December 8th at the Marriot Santa Clara Hotel in California, with 80 businesspeople from the United States.
The Colombian entrepreneurs will visit companies like Google, Apple and Oracle, with the intent of getting to know the way in which the main worldwide sector benchmarks operate, as well as potential clients or projects they may engage in.
In addition, a seminar will take place to explain the benefits of investing in Colombia, led by the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications (ITC), Diego Molano Vega, and PROCOLOMBIA.


Infrastructure Seminar, Opportunities in Colombia for U.S. Companies 
2. PROCOLOMBIA, supported by the Colombian Embassy to the United States and that country's Export and Import Bank, put together the "Seminar on Infrastructure Opportunities in Colombia for U.S. Companies", which will showcase the country as an investment destination, highlighting the benefits brought by the Free Trade Agreement between the two countries.
The seminar will also include a presentation of the country's current economic atmosphere, the National Development Plan for infrastructure projects, and the reasons why Colombia is one of the nine priority economies in the world for the EX-IM BANK.


Corporate tourism fam trip to Cartagena de Indias and Bogota 
3. From December 4 to 9, PROCOLOMBIA Colombia will join four Incentives Houses and DMCs from the United States on a fam trip to Cartagena and Bogota, where they will inspect a variety of hotel chains, events centers and the most representative tourism sites from the two cities.
The main goal during this trip will be to showcase Colombia as an international destination for encounters, incentive trips, congresses and other corporate events, with the aim of increasing the demand in the U.S. market for those interested in holding these activities in the country.
Among the participants at the fam trip are the CEOs and Presidents of INTERPORT, Successful Events, Polaris Meeting Group, and Celina's Tours & Travel.

4. PROCOLOMBIA participated in the organization of a birdwatching trip where, for 11 days, U.S. reporters Jeff Aderman, Richard Crossley, and James Currie will trek through the Yotoco Natural Reserve, Laguna del Sonso, Cerro Montezuma, Eco-Parque los Alcazares, Rio Blanco and Parque Nacional Los Nevados.
The goal of this visit will be to record a series of episodes for the Nikon's Birding Adventures TV channel, which visits different destinations for birdwatching and the most unusual species, their wildlife, and surprising cultures. The show emphasizes strongly on the preservation of species and highlights the importance and urgency of preserving the most incredible birds on the planet.


PROCOLOMBIA at The Global Business Travel Association
5. For the first time, PROCOLOMBIA Colombia will participate in one of the monthly events organized by GBTA Mexico (The Global Business Travel Association), which gathers the main Travel Managers from companies like The Coca-Cola Company, Tetrapack, Grunenthal, Condumex, General Electric, Wal-Mart, BASF Mexicana, IRCO S.A.; as well as Mexican DMC's, with the purpose of strengthening ties between the community.
PROCOLOMBIA will participate by promoting the country as a potential destination for congress, incentive and convention tourism, which will position Colombia in the MICE Mexican tourism industry.

Presentation of corporate destinations in Ecuador 
6. More than 80 corporate accounts are expected at PROCOLOMBIA's presentation of the destination cities of Bogota, Cali, Medellin, Cartagena and Santa Marta, this coming December 7th, at the Guayaquil Convention Center.
The event will include exhibition stands for each destination and will show a corporate presentation for each city, featuring its detailed offering around congress and convention tourism.


Fam trip to launch the Río de Janeiro-Bogota flight
7. Aiming to promote Bogota and Cartagena de Indias as tourism destinations in Rio de Janeiro, PROCOLOMBIA Colombia and Avianca-Taca will support a fam trip of nine tour operators (both MICE and Holiday tourism), to display the two Colombian cities' tourism offering. The visit will take place between December 7th and 11th.


"Ribeirão Sobe" Golf Tournament  
8. This coming December 9th, PROCOLOMBIA will sponsor the Golf Tournament "Ribeirão Sobe", including three male categories (A, B and C), with the goal of continuing to position Colombia as a tourist destination for the practice of this sport. The tournament expects to host 100 golfers from the interior of the State of São Paulo, and the Capital city.
