From the week of November 21st to the 27th, 2011, PROCOLOMBIA will participate in the following national and international events.

Exporters at the International Book Fair of Guadalajara

1. Colombian delegation at the International Book Fair in Guadalajara, to start on November 26th until December 4th at Expo Guadalajara. This year, the event will be part of the entity's Support Plan for the exporters affected by revaluation, ATPDEA and the heavy rainfall season.

The International Book Fair in Guadalajara is the most important editorial meeting in Iberoamerica, featuring an extraordinary cultural festival. It is targeted at professionals; the public is also welcome and they have a program with the participation of authors from all continents and different languages, as well as a space for academic discussion.
PROCOLOMBIA's participation seeks to divulge the export offering by the country's publishers, positioning Colombian literature and culture under a consolidated image as an industry leader, and increasing relationships with Latin American and United States' distributors.

Colombia Business Summit in London

2. As part of the official visit by President Juan Manuel Santos to the United Kingdom this coming November 21st, a delegation of approximately 40 Colombian entrepreneurs, including Glaxo Smith Kline, Drummond, Asobancaria, Spencer Stuart, Amerisur Resources, Ernst & Young and several Duty Free Zones, and 350 guests from companies in the United Kingdom with investments in Colombia, or who are interested in investing, will attend the Colombia Business Summit in London.


Spanish press visits tourist destinations to promote in Fitur

3. Media specializing in high level tourism from Spain will visit Medellin, Santa Marta and Cartagena de Indias from November 20 to 28, as part of PROCOLOMBIA's promotion strategy within the framework of the FITUR fair, one of the most important fairs in the sector, to be held in Madrid from January 18 to 22, 2012.

The specialized media visiting the country will be: El Periódico de Cataluña, Destinos Viajeros, Paraísos and La Razón.


Medellin, an excellent option as a Golf destination

4. From November 24 to 26, PROCOLOMBIA will arrange a fam trip for the press of the cities of Medellin, Pereira, Bogota and Bucaramanga to promote the Golf offering from each city to journalists from the specialized media.


Seminar in Chile on Duty Free Zones

5. Aiming at attracting potential investors to establish themselves in Duty Free Zones in Colombia, PROCOLOMBIA will hold the Duty Free Zone Seminar on November 25 at the ICARE Headquarters in Chile, featuring the presence of the main duty free zones and regional promotion entities from Colombia.

The Seminar will include a presentation of the advantages of the country and each of the zones present for potential investors, expecing the attendance of 100 Chilean entrepreneurs.


Twelve Colombian exporters in LATINPHARMA 2011

6. PROCOLOMBIA will participate for the fifth time from November 22 to 24, with a group of 12 exporting companies, at LATINPHARMA 2011, to be held at the Swissotel Lima Perú, targeting to promote intra-regional trade of pharmaceutical and natural products, fostering strategic alliances and favoring economic integration between small and medium sized companies in the region.

Within the framework of the event, PROCOLOMBIA will participate at a sector business matchmaking forum, and will conduct presentations on the Colombian Pharmaceutical and Phytotherapeudic market sector.

Training on Destino Colombia in Brazil

7. With the aim to train professionals in the tourism sector in northeastern Brazil, PROCOLOMBIA, in partnership with TAM, will conduct three training sessions in major cities of that region involving travel agents, operators and others involved in the tourism sector. The training will be from November 22 to 24 in Fortaleza-CE, Recife-PE and Salvador-BA.

Around 150 professionals are expected at the training sessions on the sale of Colombian destinations and tourism products and the use of the Portal www.colombia.travel, and country promotional material will be handed out.


Inaugural Avianca Flight - Taca - La Paz - Bogota

8. As part of the initial flight of the direct route from La Paz and Bogota by Avianca-Taca, PROCOLOMBIA will support the airline through a group visit by important operators and the main communications media in Bolivia.

Simultaneously, a dam trim will take place with eight operators and another press trip with seven media organizations from Bolivia, who will get to know the Bogota and Cartagena tourism offering for the Bolivian market, from November 20 to 23.


CTN Dominican Republic Fam Trip

9. Aimed at the promotion of Bogota and Cartagena as destinations and models of tourism safety, Caribbean Travel Networks (CTN) will visit the country from November 23 to 29 to get a taste of the cultural, gastronomical and historical offering. Among the participants there will be two tourism executives and three communications media representatives.

10. From November 25 to 28 2011, and thanks to the activity by PROCOLOMBIA, there will be a meeting in Cartagena between five Chilean entrepreneurs, including a wholesaler, and different end user accounts that constantly send incentive groups, in order to assess the city's corporate offering to bring incentives groups to Colombia.


Mexican businessmen on a fam trip in Cartagena

11. From November 24 to 26, 15 Mexican entrepreneurs will meet in Cartagena to assess the city's corporate offering to hold their upcoming events.

This fam trip is considered to be an opportunity to strengthen trade ties and show a destination as desired as Cartagena to the most important and influential entrepreneurs in the field of tourism.

Among the participants are: Multinational companies holding their annual conventions (American Express, T&T Travel, Novartis, Anfitriones, Carlson Wagonlit, Nestlé, among others), conventions and incentives tourism operators, and Incentives House Representatives.


Journalists from Costa Rica and Panama will understand the offering for Congresses and Conventions

12. As part of the strategy for international promotion, and considering the opportunities that arise when displaying Colombia's attractions on international press, PROCOLOMBIA invited four journalists from Costa Rica and Panama from media organizations Estrategia y Negocios, Mercados y Tendencias, and Telenoticias Canal 7.

These journalists will get together in the city to get to know the possibilities and corporate capacity of Cartagena, aimed at holding events, congresses, conventions and incentive trips, to display in their countries of origin.
