Sea Trade is the largest cruise ship trade show to be held in Miami between March 14th and 17th. During the event, PROCOLOMBIA will seek to position the country as a destination for cruise ships in the region.

With a mission of nine domestic entrepreneurs, PROCOLOMBIA will participate at the specialized cruise ship trade show Sea Trade in Miami, to take place between March 14th and 17th.

Sea Trade is the largest cruise ship industry meeting in the world, already celebrating its 26th anniversary. The most important representatives in the sector, such as tourism agencies, cruise liner companies, manufacturers and sellers from many countries will be participating to promote their products and share the latest advancements in boat technology, design and marketing, among other services. 

On average, ten thousand people attend the trade show, including exhibitors, visitors and specialized press.

PROCOLOMBIA will have its own exhibition stand to promote the tourism offer available to increase the number of cruise ships arriving at the ports of Cartagena, Santa Marta and San Andres.Colombian entrepreneurs attending the event are Corporación de Turismo, Colombia 57, Quimbaya Tours, Seico, JC Tours, Aviatur, Gerleinco, Rozo y Cia. and Altamar S.A. They will have the chance to meet with executives from the main cruise lines to offer their tourist packages and services.

The cruise line sector has been the one with the highest growth in the Colombian tourism industry. The number of ships and tourists arriving in the country has increased by over 1,000% since 2003.

In 2007, 99 cruise ships docked in Colombia with over 126,890 passengers; in 2008, 161 ships with 228,221 tourists; in 2009, 204 ships with 324,581 tourists and last year there was a record 267 cruise ships with 401,008 tourists.

The Colombian Caribbean is consolidated year after year as a destination tourists from international cruise liners can't miss, and the country is ready to receive them.
