In addition to these major publications, the United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA) showcased the country on its list of recommended destinations for this year.

Prominent reports published by renowned media outlets from the United States, Canada and Australia, highlighted Colombia's tourist attractions and chose the country as one of the major must-see destinations for this year.

Among the accolades was the report by the United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA), a group that encompasses the 700 most important companies in that sector, that predicts that Colombia will be one of the tourist destinations setting the trend in 2013. Thus the country stands out from among the group of destinations described as "uncommon" and predicted to be popular in the next few years because of its economy, beautiful landscapes and wide range of tourist packages.

"The publication of this great report piques the interest of international tour operators, and with that, the opportunities to do business and attract more travelers to Colombia. It is gratifying for us to see that Colombia is on the list of the most recommended destinations, and that encourages us to keep working hard to position the country as a world-class destination for tourist products", pointed out PROCOLOMBIA president Maria Claudia Lacouture.

CNN, one of the most important cable news networks in the United States, named Colombia as one of the most sought-after countries by international travelers.
