Colombia, a key investment destination for Smurfit Kappa

Fábrica de producción

Smurfit Kappa's history in Colombia began in 1944 when the European multinational set its eyes on the South American country.

The Irish company has been in the pulp, paper and paperboard business since 1938 and has more than 46,000 employees in 370 production centers in 35 countries in Europe and the Americas. Smurfit Kappa's Colombian operation has more than 2,500 employees in cities such as Cali, Madelin, Barranquilla and Bogota. “We are very proud of the work we have done and will continue to do in Colombia,” said Tony Smurfit, CEO of the Smurfit Kappa group.

From Colombia they export products such as paper reels, cardboard and paper reams to countries such as Peru, Costa Rica, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic, which has enabled them to position themselves as a leading supplier in the sector.
