Bogota, April 13th. (Pxp). Starting today, a 224-page book and a digital app for iOS and Android devices list all the diving options in Colombia for international diving enthusiasts.
PROCOLOMBIA created these tools to support the promotion of tourism packages in the country. The Agenda del Mar publishing house developed the book and it is the first publication effort aimed at professional groups. The guide will be distributed mainly to diving schools for local trainers, professionals, and entrepreneurs, as well as travel wholesalers with diving packages in their catalog.
PROCOLOMBIA identified opportunities to entice travelers interested in these products in Australia, Germany, Brazil, Canada, United States, Holland, U.K., Russia, and Switzerland.
The 224-page book is available in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, and has detailed information about the 16 diving spots in the Colombian Caribbean and the Pacific. In addition to the general information about location, temperature, population, history, and language, the guide also lists the main spots in each destination, addressing over 70 diving spots (46 and 24 in the Colombian Caribbean and Pacific, respectively).
The guide includes detailed information for every spot, including depth, visibility, currents, difficulty level, and whether free-diving is available or not.
" This is the first diving guide about Colombia, and we hope to show the unique experiences that travelers can enjoy in both of the country&rsquo s oceans, as well as give entrepreneurs a tool that helps them promote tourism packages to Colombia in strategic markets for this product, including Brazil," stated Maria Claudia Lacouture, President of PROCOLOMBIA Colombia.
In addition to the pictures, the guide includes maps of each location and information regarding hotels, hospitals, and airports, as well as where to enjoy fishing, whale-spotting, and leisurely sailing. In addition, this traveling guide contains an address book with contact information (phone number, address, e-mail, and Web site) of 60 diving operators in Colombia with international certification to help entrepreneurs, instructors and divers to connect with them when planning their trip.
It also includes testimonials of instructors, tourism operators, and divers that visited and plunged into the waters of each destination to support the guide&rsquo s main information.
Mobile Diving App (Buceo Colombia)
In addition to the guide, PROCOLOMBIA also launched the Buceo Colombia app. The goal is to raise awareness among people who love both the deep sea and technology. The app is compatible with iOS-based smartphones (Apple) and Google Maps geolocation (through Internet access) for 16 destinations, 70 diving spots, and 18 diving operators throughout the country.
It is also available in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, and can be downloaded for free from the different app stores under the name " Buceo Colombia" . The app also includes an address book listing diving schools and 18,418 tourism service providers (restaurants and hotels) directly related to each destination, where users can find information like phone number, address, e-mail, and Web site. The schools and tourism service providers were chosen by researching their diving-related activities and include 413 organizations.
The mobile guide allows users to perform advanced searches such as season of the year, diving spots (purpose, depth, current type, difficulty level and whether free-diving is available or not), and schools, and advanced search filters can be combined to refine results.
By checking the desired options, users can plan their trip according to their specifications or by type of Colombian diving schools. Also, the itinerary and images can be shared on Facebook and Twitter.
Colombia is one of the wonders in the diving world thanks to its privileged features in both oceans, considered true living laboratories. The area' s wealth is represented by many endemic vegetation species due to the unique adaptations of the local fauna. This is one of the reasons why " Colombia is Magic Realism" .
