PROCOLOMBIA Events Agenda from April 15th to the 21st, 2012

From the week of April 15th to the 21st 2012, Proexport Colombia will participate in the following national and international events.

Event´ s Agenda:

Agri-business sector seminar, registrations are now open

1. PROCOLOMBIA will hold the first sectoral seminar in Bogotá and Medellin towards harnessing the opportunities raised by the Free Trade Agreement in Colombia and the United States. The seminar in Bogotá will be broadcast simultaneously in the cities of Bucaramanga, Cúcuta, Cali, Pereira and Barranquilla. The entrepreneurs interested in attending can register via phone or enter www.proexport.com.co/streaming to see it via the internet.

Convention tourism: entrepreneurs from the United States will visit Bogotá and Medellín

2. Incentives houses The Marion Group, Arete 1 International LL, Advamed, Metacred and Power Planner, invited by PROCOLOMBIA, will visit the country to learn about the strengths of the two cities as host cities of congresses, conventions and fam-trips. During their stay, they will visit hotels, convention centers and the most important tourist sites.

Peruvian executives interested in the Colombian tourism offering

3. Entrepreneurs from important industrial sectors in Peru will be in Bogota and Cartagena for one week to learn about the strengths of the two cities. They will assess the possibility to develop their events and fam-trips in the country. The visit is arranged by PROCOLOMBIA and Costamar, a Peruvian wholesaler. Part of the guests are two financial entities, a mining company, a pharmaceutical sector company and another from the textile sector.

Investment opportunities to be presented in Japan

4. Presidents and Managers from 80 Japanese companies will participate during an encounter where PROCOLOMBIA representatives and the President of Yokohama Bank, Tetsumaro Terazawa, will showcase Colombia' s investment options. This is the first time someone from that level in Japan is part of a presentation intended to highlight the advantages of the Colombian economy.

Bogotá is ready to receive international buyers at the International Book Fair

5. The International Book Fair will launch this week in the country' s capital, this year featuring the participation of 100 buyers and literary agents visiting from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, the United States, Guatemala, Honduras, México, Nicaragua, Panamá, Paraguay, Perú, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and France.

From May 23rd to 25th, attendees will participate in a business matchmaking forum arranged by PROCOLOMBIA, the Colombian Book Chamber and Corferias, a venue where they will have the opportunity to do business with Colombian entrepreneurs from the publishing sector.

Journalists from Departures Magazine in the United States will travel around Colombia

6. In order to take advantage of their visit to the country for the coverage of the VI Summit of the Americas in Cartagena de Indias, journalists from Departures Magazine, whose readers are American Express platinum clients, decided to visit Santa Marta, Bogotá, Medellín and the Coffee Triangle for a tourism report on Colombia.  During the entire week, and with PROCOLOMBIA' s support, they will travel around these cities to experience the main tourist attractions, the gastronomical offering and cultural diversity.

Seminar to access the Canadian market with Digital Content

7. There will be two seminars given by Consultant Pedram Goshtasbpour, a specialist in creating content and animated commercial production for international markets. The event will be developed with the support of the Canadian Executive Service Organization (CESO) and PROCOLOMBIA, as a strategy to harness the Free Trade Agreement with Canada.
