FTA Forum Colombia &ndash Switzerland, new opportunities in perspective

1. Next May, 23rd, at AR Convention Center, the forum on " FTA Colombia &ndash Switzerland, new opportunities in perspective will be held, in order to announce the country the Agreement comes into force next July First . The event will be opened by the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Sergio Dí az-Granados and the Secretary of State for Economical Affairs, Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen-Fleisch. During the event there will be a panel led by the President of PROCOLOMBIA, Marí a Claudia Lacouture, with entrepreneurs from the textile sector and organic products on the impact the FTA will have on their activities.

There will also be announcements on the business opportunities the Colombian exporters have in the Swiss market. The event is part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Switzerland and Colombia&rsquo s official presence.

Latin American tour to announce the touristic offer for the Sub 20 World Championship

2. A mission with 14 tourism operators and promotion entities from Barranquilla, Bogotá , Cali, Cartagena, Manizales and Medellí n, will begin this Monday, May 23rd and until June 3rd , a tour around eight Latin American cities in order to publicize Colombia&rsquo s touristic offer.

The tour, which includes Mexico City, Guatemala City, San José de Costa Rica, Panama City, Quito, Caracas, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires, was managed by PROCOLOMBIA within the framework for tourist promotion of the country, in relation to the FIFA Soccer World Cup Sub- 20, which will be played in Colombia from July 29t, to August 20th.

During each visit there will be a presentation for the tourism wholesalers, travel agencies and the local press of the country as a destination and then there will a detailed presentation on the offer of each city and region where the World Cup will be played, emphasizing the place where the soccer team of the country visited will be.

160 buyers in a Business Round Expoconstrucció n Expodiseñ o 2011

3. Between next May 25th and 26th Expoconstrucció n and Expodiseñ o Business Round will be held. With the participation of 160 international shoppers who have been invited by PROCOLOMBIA with 300 Colombian exporters who will be looking for an opportunity to enlarge their presence in foreign markets.

The Business Round has been organized by PROCOLOMBIA, Corferias and the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá , it will be held in Corferias during Expoconstrucció n and Expodiseñ o 2011, one of the most important specialized construction fairs in Latin America and the Caribbean because it is unique platform that seeks to generate qualified businesses and contacts among the exhibitors, shoppers and visitors.

Colombia as a destination for congresses and conventions at Imex 2011

4. Eight Colombian companies will be at Imex 2011, the world&rsquo s most important incentive trips, congresses and conventions fair which will be held in Frankfurt (Germany) between May 24th and 26th.

The Colombian participation led by PROCOLOMBIA, will include, among others Medellí n Convention & Visitors Bureau, Bogotá Convention Bureau, the Chamber of Commerce of Cali, Quimbaya Tours, Gematours, Aviatur, Contactos Ltda and Promotora Neptuno.

Imex brings together 3.500 exhibitors from 157 countries among which we can find representatives from tourism offices, airlines, hotel groups, service suppliers, among other entrepreneurs from the touristic sector. Colombian entrepreneurs will have business appointments during the three &ndash day fair in order to publicize and promote Colombia at an international level as an ideal destination for meetings, events and incentives.

The 2011 Latin American Outsourcing Summit - I Latin American Meeting on Outsourcing

5. The I Latin American Meeting on Outsourcing, organized in alliance with PROCOLOMBIA, the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) and the National Association of Colombian Entrepreneurs ANDI, will be the stage where clients, suppliers and advisors from the region will have a chance to boost their work networks and identify new market opportunities as well as to strengthen their exporting offer. It will be held on May 26th and 27th, at the Convention Center of Las Amé ricas Hotel in Cartagena.

This will be a chance to strengthen and position the Colombian offer for outsourcing at a world level. Organizations such as Accenture Avianca Bancolombia Booz & Company CB Richard Ellis Colliers International the University of Duke, Johnson & Johnson Kirkland and Ellis PwC, among others will be there.

In Cali, A Seminar on Opportunities for Natural Ingredients for Food, Cosmetics and Pharmaceuticals in The European Union

In order to strengthen the knowledge of the participating companies and sensitize about the requirements that need to be complied with to be able to commercialize products effectively to the European Union, PROCOLOMBIA, through the Direction of Cooperation and Agreements and with the support of the Manufacturing and Agricultural Industry Managements, will hold the Seminar on Opportunities of the Sector of Natural Ingredients for Food, Cosmetics and Pharmaceutics in the European Union.

During the event, which will be held on May 23rd in Cali, at the Intercontinental Hotel, ECP of Natural Ingredients will be launched and valuable tools will be given regarding the trends and characteristics on the demand for Natural Ingredients within the EU, the way to do business with European buyers, commercial opportunities and the launching of the individual consulting program of the CBI.

In Medellí n, A Seminar on Trends, opportunities and requirements: Fresh Fruits and Vegetables in The European Union

7. Next May 23rd and 24th the Seminar on Trends, opportunities and requirements: sector fresh fruits and vegetables in the European Union will be held in Medellí n, at the Medellí n Royal Hotel of the capital city of Antioquia.

The event has been organized by PROCOLOMBIA&rsquo s Direction for Cooperation and Agreements and it seeks to strengthen the knowledge of the participating companies and sensitize on the requirements they need to comply with in order to be able to commercialize their products effectively in the European Union.

During the two days of the seminar, information will be given with the intent to improve the knowledge and skills of the exporters on the market and promotion of fresh fruits and vegetables in the European Union.

Container Inspection and Cargo Integrity

Next May 24th, and in order to generate knowledge and competencies in the procedures and good practices for the inspection of containers and the integrity of the cargo according to the BASC Regulations and Standards, PROCOLOMBIA&rsquo s Logistic Section will hold the seminar Container Inspection and Cargo Integrity in Bogotá at Bancoldex, Sierra Nevada Auditorium.

It is a seminar for entrepreneurs and its objective is to inform on topics on security and integrity of the cargo that need to be taken into account upon exporting.

Falabella trips - Chile training breakfast

10. As part of the strategy for the promotion and positioning of Colombia as a touristic destination, the Commercial Office of PROCOLOMBIA in Chile, in an alliance with Falabella Trips, will, hold a breakfast meeting with the main sales force of Santiago to promote the new options Colombia has tourism wise. The breakfast will be held next May 25th, 2011.

Training session for the sales force of wholesaler Cosmo Service

11. Next May 26th, in Santiago de Chile, representatives from PROCOLOMBIA Chile in alliance with the wholesaler Cosmo Service, will meet with the main sales force of Santiago de Chile to promote the new options Colombia has in tourism, in order to support the strategy for the promotion and positioning of Colombia as a touristic destination.

Breakfast with the main travel agencies in Chile in alliance with Avianca - Taca

12. In order to support the joint promotion and the positioning of Colombia as a touristic destination, on May 26th, representatives of PROCOLOMBIA&rsquo s Commercial Office in Chile will attend a breakfast organized by Avianca - Taca for the main travel agencies in Santiago, whose objective is to publicize Colombia&rsquo s touristic products and attractions in Chile.

Incentives, golf, sun and beach natural national parks, stylish hotels and cruises will be some of the products to offer for Chileans to take the risk to go to Colombia and want to stay.

Santa Marta, a destination to offer in Ecuador

13. PROCOLOMBIA and Salmor Metropromociones in alliance with Avianca, will hold a dinner at the Restaurant La Gloria in Quito (Ecuador), next May 24th, to promote Santa Marta, before 45 managers from the main travel agencies, as one of the most attractive destinations in Colombia, for nature, relaxation, sun and beach.

A Workshop on Nature Tourism in Armenia, Manizales and Neiva

14. Next week, the tour of Nature Tourism workshops will continue publicizing the new trends in this segment in Colombia and the relevant criteria for its development at a national and international level.

Next week&rsquo s national tour will have locations in Armenia, on May 24th, at the Armenia Hotel in Manizales, on May 25th, at Hotel Estelar Las Colinas and in Neiva, on May 27th, at the San José Eustasio Rivera Convention Center. Around 240 participants are expected to attend, among entrepreneurs, tour operators, hotel managers, guilds and tourism secretariats from the Coffee Triangle and Neiva.

PROCOLOMBIA, through the Vice presidency of Tourism and the Zeiky, hand in hand with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism and the Vice Ministry of Tourism are organizing this event that will be held in Cartagena, San André s, San Gil, Cali and Leticia.

15. From May 26th to 29th, 2011 in Medellí n, PROCOLOMBIA, Avianca Taca Venezuela and the Intercontinental Hotel from Medellí n, will show 12 tourism wholesalers the offer of the City for the MICE segment in order to capture new events and conventions.

International Promotion of the Festival of the Flowers

16. In order to promote the festival of the Flowers from Medellí n at an international level, and to increase the number of visitors, PROCOLOMBIA, with the support of Costa Rica Commercial Office, The Commercial Office of the United States and the Regional Office of Medellí n, will promote meetings with tourism wholesalers from Panama, Costa Rica and the United States next week, to promote the festival of the flowers.
