PROCOLOMBIA Event Agenda from March 11 to 17, 2012

During the week from March 11 through 17, 2012, Proexport Colombia will participate in the following national and international events.

Event´ s Agenda:


1.  Nine Colombian companies in Cruise Shipping Miami

Cruise Shipping Miami brings together suppliers and buyers of the cruise industry around the world who take advantage of this space to offer their services, promote destinations and create supply networks while educating about the industry. This year, nine Colombian companies will participate in the PROCOLOMBIA stand, highlighting the ports of Cartagena and Santa Marta. There will also be an institutional stand that will serve as an information center to guide the visitors.

The Colombian companies participating are: Cartagena Cruise Ship Terminal, Rozo y Cia, Tesoro Tours, Seico, Turismo de Cartagena de Indias, Port of Santa Marta, Altamar, Gerleinco and Colombia 57.

2.  Investment seminars in Madrid, Rome and Milan

Next week Spain and Italy will be home to a series of meetings in which various entities will disclose investment opportunities in industries such as infrastructure, agribusiness, textiles, furniture and energy. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism, PROCOLOMBIA, with support from the Colombian embassies in each country, and the National Infrastructure Association will be in the events.

Italy: &bull Seminar on Investment Opportunities in Colombia - Infrastructure, March 14. In Rome and Milan &bull Business Forum Italy, March 15.


3.  Colombia will participate for the first time in the International Home Houseware Show

Eight Colombian companies from the manufacturing industry will travel to Chicago invited by PROCOLOMBIA, to the International Home Houseware Show, the largest household item showcase. Since this is the first time that the country participates, PROCOLOMBIA seeks for entrepreneurs to initially become aware of the

requirements of the U.S. market and of the recent trends in household article production. The goal is also to identify new business opportunities and meet potential business partners.

The Colombian companies attending the event are: Ladecol, Purifil, ECCA, Landres, Vical, Fullerpinto, Konfort, Estras, Marres

4.  Lan Tours Chile will be trained to promote the diversity of Colombian tourism

As part of the strategy of innovation and diversification of tourist destinations for Chilean travelers, the sales force of Lan Tours in Chile will attend a series of training sessions led by PROCOLOMBIA, workshops to learn about products and gastronomy, cruises, boutique hotels, and national parks with an option of sun and beaches, among others.

5.  New Charter: San Juan, Puerto Rico and Cartagena are now closer

PROCOLOMBIA, in partnership with the Tourism Corporation of Cartagena, held an event to promote the new flight that will connect the two tourist cities. The Good Quality Tours Charter, the largest wholesaler of southern Puerto Rico, will offer a direct flight from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Cartagena with an eight weekly departure frequency.

Participants will include three Puerto Rican media representatives: Nuevo Día, and La Perla and Bon Voyage Journals. Journalists will have the opportunity to experience the attractions of the " Corralito de Piedra" (Cartagena).

6.  Colombia will exhibit for the first time in Fitbolivia

During March 15 through 17, PROCOLOMBIA will be in Fitbolivia. It is the first time that the entity participates in this fair and the specific plan on this occasion is to promote sun and beach destinations in Colombia, products which are preferred by Bolivian tourists.

7.  Panel to take advantage of the FTA between Colombia and the U.S.A.

Within the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, event that brings together the construction sector Hispanic companies for the generation of business PROCOLOMBIA will have a stand and a panel that will outline business opportunities and taking advantage of the FTA with Colombia, this in order to make contact with the entrepreneurs in the industry in the North American country.

Businessmen from the Washington DC metropolitan area, which also includes the states of Maryland and Virginia, will be attending the event.
