706 international buyers from 25 countries attended the meetings organized by PROCOLOMBIA Colombia.
Business prospects for US$73.1 million were created during the meetings organized by PROCOLOMBIA at Colombiamoda 2011, surpassing the 2010 figure of US$65.4 million.
A total of 706 international buyers invited by PROCOLOMBIA made their arrival and had the opportunity to see the entire offer by the Colombian exporters of the textile and apparel sector.
The buyers came from Ecuador, Mexico, the United States, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Peru, Puerto Rico, Canada, Chile, Spain, Brazil, El Salvador, Germany, Switzerland, Aruba, Suriname, Panama, Honduras, the United Kingdom, France, Argentina, Jamaica, Algeria, Venezuela, Monaco and Portugal.
PROCOLOMBIA implemented its new business dynamic whereby the international buyers had the chance to walk around the entire fair and visit the Colombian exporters' stands personally while, in turn, said exporters were able to present their products in a more professional and personal way.
The visitors, most of whom are department store owners, wholesale and direct catalog sales importers, boutique owners, representatives and distributors looking for girdles, women's under garments, casual, children's and sports clothing, jeans and swimwear, among other products.
In addition, international buyers' participation at the event is part of the PROCOLOMBIA Support Plan for the exporters affected by revaluation, ATPDEA and the heavy rainfalls.
The Plan, which began its execution on July first and will extend until December 31st, contemplates nearly 50 activities like buyer and seller fam trips, business matchmaking forums, market and market share information for the most important international fairs.
Almost 1,200 exporting firms will benefit from said activities.
