Golf and Business Come Together to Generate Opportunities for Colombian Entrepreneurs

Participants will travel from the Americas, the Caribbean and Europe to "Colombia vs the World 2013", an event that combines golf and business to strengthen the country's commercial relations with the world.

Colombian entrepreneurs will explore overseas business opportunities while competing against their peer from 11 countries and various sectors of the economy in a golf tournament which will take place in the department of Santander.

The event " Colombia vs the World 2013" is an initiative from the business facilitator Conexión Globlal and is supported by public and private entities. PROCOLOMBIA is one of them it is dedicated to overseas promotion of Colombia as a destination for vacations and meetings.

Organizers say that this is the third consecutive year that this opportunity has been launched in order to generate and strengthen relations between exporters and foreign buyers. The tournament will take place on the 18-hole course of Ruitoque Golf Country Club in Bucaramanga, one of the best courses in Colombia.

The 2013 tournament will take place May 29-30. 120 national and international entrepreneurs have already confirmed their attendance. Representatives from at least 16 diplomatic missions will also take part.

Funds collected will be donated to Granfundación, an organization that works to help people in vulnerable situations find work.

The gathering will also have an academic component in which experts will teach attendees how to make the most of trade agreements Colombia has signed with Canada, Chile, the United States, Mexico and the Northern Triangle (Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador).

Colombia' s golf courses are the third-best in South America, after those of Argentina and Brazil. Its over fifty courses are among the best in Latin America.

Thus Colombian golf courses have been used for several years in important tours such as the Nationwide PGA Tour in Bogota, the first to take place in a South American country as well as the Tour de las Americas (the Latin American Tour) the Canadian Tour the European Challenge Tour and the Pacific Colombia Tour.
