As a part of its commitment in preserving the environment and biodiversity, PROCOLOMBIA has encouraged staff members, business partners, and clients to join ConTREEbute, the organization that seeks to offset a person&rsquo s carbon footprint by planting trees to purify the air.
Recently, PROCOLOMBIA had the opportunity to plant enough trees to counterbalance the carbon dioxide produced during their past two tradeshows in Miami and Los Angeles. In addition, PROCOLOMBIA has been able to introduce the program to over 200 clients and visitors during these events. During Cruise Shipping Miami, PROCOLOMBIA planted 80 trees in Colombia on behalf of the VIP contacts, which included cruise executives and journalists. With the participation of travel agents and visitors, more than 130 trees were planted after the LA tradeshow, Adventures, where Colombia&rsquo s nature and biodiversity was showcased as a destination for natural tourism. For every participant who measured his or her carbon offset, PROCOLOMBIA Cololmbia planted a tree to help offset their carbon footprint as a result of its participation in the fair.
PROCOLOMBIA&rsquo s proposal in the development of environmental strategies and events will be able to attract tourists who are interested in the country&rsquo s ecotourism. PROCOLOMBIA hopes to influence lifestyles while also contributing to the development of new technologies that help prevent damage to the ecosystem.
