Around 2,500 Venezuelans among specialized journalists, tour operators, travel agents, suppliers and the public at large got to know the entire tourism offering in Colombia.
The presentation was made by PROCOLOMBIA during the Venezuelan Travel and Tourism Agency Association fair (AVAVIT), where the organization promoted products like sun, beach, history, culture and lifestyle, adventure and nature in the country.
According to the information issued by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism, and based on DAS (Administrative Security Department) figures, Venezuela is the second country sending the highest number of tourists to Colombia, after the United States. A total of 197,113 travelers arrived between January and April 2011, which represented a 13,4% share of the total amount during the same period in 2010.
In addition, given that there are 40 flights per week between the two countries, Venezuela has become one of the most important senders of tourists to Colombia.
