Colombian beef exporters seek new markets at Anuga 2011

Entrepreneurs' intent is to show that Colombia offers a competitive product for its price and quality. Russia, Egypt and Israel are among the countries that have identified opportunities to do business

With their frozen bovine meat, both boneless and in carcasses, in industrial or fine cuts, the Colombians taking part at Anuga 2011 will seek to conquer international buyers.

Participants will offer quality products at the beef exhibition stand in Anuga, the largest food fair in the world, taking place in Cologne, Germany from October 8 to 12, aiming to find distributors and trading partners in Europe.

The Colombian Federation of Cattle Ranchers (Fedegan), the national sector guild, is one of the participants traveling with the support of PROCOLOMBIA, the entity entrusted with the promotion of tourism, investment and Colombian exports around the world. &quot We will promote Colombian beef as a product that is more natural than in other countries,&quot said Augusto Beltran&#39 s representative. &quot This is important to highlight because the Colombian animal enjoys natural pastures every day of the year, because our country does not have any seasons,&quot he added.

With this, Fedeg&aacute n will visit Anuga 2011 to tell Europe that &quot Colombia now exports to various markets like Russia and Egypt. We want to invite health officials to visit the country and see the potential and quality of Colombian products, first hand.&quot

The Colombian participation is part of the strategy entitled A Taste of Colombian Flavors, led by PROCOLOMBIA, which invites visitors to international food fairs to &quot Discover why the flavors of Colombia are at the tip of everyone&#39 s tongue.&quot
Also visiting will be Procesadora de Carnes Santander (a meat processing company). Its president, Ralph Market, said that in this, his second participation at the fair, the company will seek to close several business deals. &quot We will give continuity to potential clients and do business with whom we already have the protocol.&quot

Procesan, this time around, are looking for new buyers from Israel, Russia and Egypt. &quot We are going to showcase beef with the best prices in South America, as well as excellent quality.&quot

A total of 29 Colombian exporters will be present with meat, frozen and fine food, hot beverages and bakery.
