Colombia positions itself in France as an example of transformation and opportunities.

Journalists from the main French media highlighted the changes the country has experienced in the past 10 years.

During the past weeks, three of the main French media have dedicated their pages to presenting the evolution of Colombia in the past years, mainly highlighting the opportunities the country poses in matters of business, especially around investment.

Les Echos, the most important financial journal in France with over 116,000 copies sold a day, dedicated an entire page to what they call " the resurrection of Colombia" , where it applauds the " spectacular economic growth rate of the country" and rates it as " one of investors' favorite emerging countries."

On the other hand, Le Point, the main weekly magazine in the country with close to 408,000 copies, called upon the French people to discover the financial opportunities our country has to offer these days, leaving behind the issues that caught the attention of the media a few years back.

The magazine Marianne, with over 260,000 copies sold per week, talked about social investment in Medellin, adding itself to over 60 positive articles written about Colombia and published in France for the last three months.

Said publications are the result of the promotion of Colombia as a destination for foreign investment, and international tourism by Proexport. According to the information issued by the Central Bank, FDI in the country in 2010 was US$34,1 million, where, as of the second quarter of 2011, it would have reached US$53.8 million.
