Starting at 9:00 am this Monday, trade appointments will begin at the Bogotá Book Fair, between 100 international buyers and the same number of Colombian exporters participating at the event, to be held at Exhibition Hall 19 in Corferias.
The business matchmaking forum arranged by PROCOLOMBIA, the Colombian Book Chamber, and Corferias, will take place until 6 pm and end on Wednesday, April 25th.
The international buyers came from countries like Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, the United States, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Perl, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay and France, and will have a first-hand look at Colombia' s publishing offering for distribution in their countries. Another four buyers from Brazil, Spain and France are interested in copyright.
According to the information by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism of Colombia, and based on DANE figures, Colombian exports in the publishing sector added up to a total of US$101.3 million in 2011, while in 2010 the total amount was US$98,8 million.
PROCOLOMBIA has identified business opportunities for the sale of books in countries like Ecuador and Brazil. Furthermore, there are possibilities to export copyright in the United Kingdom, France, Egypt, Turkey, Slovenia, Russia, Hong Kong, Hungary and Poland.
