190 entrepreneurs confirmed to attend the Nature Tourism Workshop in Medellin

The event seeks to aim the private sector towards this product as a source of opportunities to attract international tourists.

Nearly 190  entrepreneurs from the Antioquia, Pacific Region and Choco tourist sectors have enrolled to participate this Tuesday the 17th in the Nature Tourism Awareness Workshop, to take place at the Dann Carlton Hotel in Medellin.     

The event, which is scheduled to start at 2:00 pm, is intended to providing attendees with information on the latest trends in this segment in Colombia and the most relevant criteria for its development at national and international level.

PROCOLOMBIA, together with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism, and the Vice Ministry of Tourism, organized the event, which is intended to guide the private sector towards Nature Tourism as a source of opportunities, to provide clarity on conceptual alignment issues, show outstanding cases and aligne the sector in terms of product promotion through the Zeiky export training methodology.

Javier Gó mez, Chairman of the Colombian Federation of Ecoparks, Ecotourism and Adventure Tourism, is the workshop speaker who will provide information on the mechanisms in order to achieve a sustainable and competitive nature tourism at international level.

Colombia is the open-door country with the largest biodiversity in the world per square kilometer, the first in number of birds and amphibians, second in plants, third in number of reptiles and fifth in number of mammals.

All of these possibilities are within the Nature Tourism proposal which encompasses products like natural national parks, bird and whale watching, rural tourism and ecotourism.

The awareness workshop already took place in Bogotá and Santa Marta. Next week it will take place in Armenia (May 24th), Manizales (May 25th), Neiva (May 27th), Cartagena (May 31st), San Andres (June 3rd), San Gil (June 8th), Cali (June 10th) and Leticia (June 14th).
