1. Colombia - Canada FTA Opportunities Seminar in Bogota

On Monday September 26, 2011 the Minister of Trade, Industry and Tourism, Sergio Diaz-Granados will open the Colombia - Canada FTA Opportunities Seminar in Bogotá , to be held at the Hotel Cosmos 100 from 9:00 am.

During the event, PROCOLOMBIA will announce the Opportunities Plan offered by the Free Trade Agreement and a conference will be held regarding matters around doing business in Canada, offered by Lidia Karamaoun, Project Manager for TFO Canada. Furthermore, success stories of exports to that country will be shared.

2. Colombia at Future of Tourism in Canada

Within the framework of the celebration of the United Nations' Tourism Day, Colombia will be present as the guest country, invited by GAP Adventures, a leading Canadian tour operator, at the Future of Tourism event. (The Future of Tourism).

The event will take place on September 27 at the Winter Garden Theatre in Toronto, with an expected attendance of one thousand guests, including leading travel agencies, industry representatives from the industry and end users.

PROCOLOMBIA in joint efforts on promotional projects with GAP Adventures, will be present this time as a sponsor with promotional material such as the logo of " Colombia, the risk is wanting to stay" , for the promotion and positioning of the country as a tourist destination.

3. Promotimg Colombia in Brazil as a destination to play Golf

PROCOLOMBIA will host the VII Broa Golf Resort Tournament, an event aimed at amateur golfers, between September 30 and October first, at the Broa Golf Resort facilities. This is one of the most recognized golf events in Brazil, and is expected to gather about 100 players from several cities in Brazil, and a thousand visitors.

The tournament will reward golfers in various categories: Scratch, Female, Male, single category according to handicap index, and PROCOLOMBIA will be present with the promotion of the Colombian Golf product in the Brazilian market.

4. Workshop Trend Operator

Travel agencies from several Brazilian states that will be present at the 13th edition of Trend Workshop to be held on October first in Atibaia (SP) Brazil.
150 exhibitors and more than 7,000 travel agents gathered at the Bourbon Atibaia Spa Resort to showcase all the developments in the sector, to both domestic and international destinations.

5. Opportunities Seminar in Switzerland

With the aim of promoting investment by Swiss companies and exports from Colombia to that country, the Embassy of Colombia in Switzerland, the Latin American Chamber of Commerce in Switzerland and OSEC, will conduct an event on September 30 to commemorate 100 years of trade with Switzerland and the Free Trade Agreement with that country at the SWX Convention Point, where they expect more than 60 confirmed participants.

6. Introduction of Colombia as a Tourism Destination - Avianca Workshop in the Dominican Republic

This coming September 30, 30 agents from the major travel agencies in Colombia, and with the support of PROCOLOMBIA and Avianca, will meet at the Punta Cana Resort Hotel to promote Colombia as a tourist destination and to advertise the new direct flights by the airline from Punta Cana to Bogota.

7. Business matchmaking forum in Proflora 2011 in Bogotá

Asocolflores, PROCOLOMBIA, the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá , Corferias and Colombia, Land of Flowers, support Proflora 2011, the largest fair in the flower industry in Colombia, to be held from October 28 to 30 at the Corferias Convention Center in Bogotá .

A total of 86 international buyers invited by PROCOLOMBIA will be present to see, first hand, the country's flower export offering to increase sales of this product.

8. Ernest & Young Doing Business and Investing in Colombia Seminar in Miami

PROCOLOMBIA and Ernest & Young, a leading firm in advisory services, auditing, tax, transactions and strategic growth markets, will give a seminar on Friday, September 30 from 8:00 to 10:00 am at the Conrad Hotel Miami, to present the investment opportunities in Colombia and the country's benefits for the establishment of new projects.

The event will be attended by 25 of the largest multinational companies that have presence in South Florida, which are currently analyzing the development of new investments and/or expansion of new lines in the country.

The main objective of this seminar is to position Colombia as an attractive and competitive destination for new companies to start new operations or expand their presence, leveraging on the country's improvement in the " Doing Business" ranking by the World Bank in recent years, in terms of the ease of doing business, and one of the top three countries with the best environment for doing business in the region.

9. Colombia at Expoalimentaria Peru 2011

With the aim of raising awareness of the agro-industrial exportable offering of Colombia, PROCOLOMBIA will participate by supporting five entrepreneurs and a Colombian Exhibition Hall at Expoalimentaria 2011, from September 28 to 30. This is the largest international fair for food, beverages, machinery, equipment, supplies and packaging materials, services, restaurants and cuisine in the region, and is a meeting point of exporting firms and selected buyers from five continents.

Expoalimentaria attracts over 15,000 trade visitors, among food professionals, equipment manufacturers, importers, exporters and service providers for the food industry. In addition, more than 400 exporters in the South American region will exhibit their exports with the latest trends in innovation and the latest in the technology sector.
