PROCOLOMBIA events Agenda from February 26th to March 3rd 2012.

From the week of February 26th to March 3rd, 2012, Proexport Colombia will participate in the following national and international events.

Colombia Travel Mart 2012, the most important tourism business matchmaking forum

1. Over 170 entrepreneurs from 21 countries would have approximately 3,800 business meetings with 198 Colombian tourism companies during the Colombia Travel Mart 2012, organized by PROCOLOMBIA as part of the Anato Tourism Showcase. The most important tourism trade encounter will be attended by 30 percent more wholesalers invited by the organization than in 2011. Six specialized journalists from Canada, Uruguay, France, Brazil, the United States and Germany will cover the event.

Date: March 1 and 2.

Seminar on Engineering and Construction Service Projects in Guatemala

2. Aiming to promote Colombian participation in Guatemalan engineering and construction service projects, 80 Colombian companies were invited by PROCOLOMBIA to learn about the opportunities in place to enter that market. The Guatemalan delegation visiting the country will hold individual appointments with the interested companies and will participate in the Expoinmobiliaria inaugural event on March 2nd. The organizing entities are PROCOLOMBIA, the Colombian Infrastructure Chamber, Camacol and the Medellin Construction Development Cluster.

Seminar in Tokyo on Japanese investment promotion in Colombia

3. PROCOLOMBIA and Prochile will hold a seminar in Japan for 80 local entrepreneurs intended to showcase the markets offered by these two Latin American countries for foreign investment, as well as to present success stories of companies from that Asian country established in Colombia and Chile.

This is the result of a joint effort between the two trade promotion agencies from the Alianza Pacífico member countries. The event is supported by the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB), the Embassies of Colombia and Chile, the Japanese Institute for Overseas Investment (JOI) and the Japanese Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC).

Date: February 28.
Location: Tokyo, Japan.


Investors will learn about existing tools to facilitate business in agricultural and forestry sectors

4. Established investors, guilds, embassies and promotion and investment agencies from other countries will participate in the event, organized by PROCOLOMBIA, in joint effort with the Ministry of Agriculture to socialize the Special Farming and Forestry Development Project Regulation (Spanish acronym, PEDAF) and the Single Forestry Window (Spanish acronym, VUF).

There will be space for the entrepreneurs to state their concerns on the implementation of these mechanisms, which seek to facilitate investments in the agricultural and forestry sectors.

Colombian apps for mobile telephones to be promoted in Barcelona

5. Eleven Colombian companies supported by PROCOLOMBIA will attend the Mobile World Congress, the most important developers&#39 event in the world. It will take place in Barcelona (Spain), and our entrepreneurs there will learn about application proposals for mobile phones, presented before companies like BlackBerry, Samsung and Nokia, among others.

Investment Opportunities on Oil Goods and Services

6. The tour around seven countries prepared by the National Hydrocarbon Agency will kick off this week, to showcase the development and opportunities this industry has to offer foreign companies PROCOLOMBIA will put together seminars in each of these countries on investment in the Oil Goods and Services sector.

Cartagena to host the annual Puerto Rico Supplies convention

7. From March 1 to 5, the walled city will host 260 executives from Puerto Rico Supplies, the largest food importer and distributor on the island. The goal of the convention is to promote Colombia as a destination for meetings and to consolidate relations with that important company.

The host city title was granted to Cartagena after several years of an awareness raising process and presentations of the destination city given by Proexport..


Medical tourism entrepreneurs from the United States will visit the main cities in Colombia

8. Intended to learn about Colombia as a medical tourism destination, six U.S. entrepreneurs will visit ten clinics that currently have service exporting projects. Bogotá, Medellín, Bucaramanga and Cartagena will be the cities visited by the agents seeking new projects to strengthen their tourist package offering.
