PROCOLOMBIA begins an eight latin american city tour to promote the U-20 FIFA World Cup

The objective is to publicize the Colombian touristic offer, its destinations and locations, in order to capture tourists within the framework of the World Cup on youth soccer.

A mission of 14 tourism operators and promotion entities from Barranquilla, Bogotá , Cali, Cartagena, Manizales and Medellí n, will start a tour this Monday and until the 3rd of June, around eight Latin American cities with the objective to publicize all Colombia can offer in tourism. 

The visit, which will go to Mexico City, Guatemala City, San José de Costa Rica, Panama City, Quito, Caracas, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires, has been organized by PROCOLOMBIA, in order to promote the Soccer World Cup Sub &ndash 20, which will be held in the country from July 29th to August 20th.   

" As part of the promotion work we do from PROCOLOMBIA, we have designed a tour around eight cities in  Latin America to offer, together with tour operators, local promotion entities and the mass media, the Colombian touristic offer. This tour will allow us to generate business opportunities and capture international tourists&rdquo , explained Marí a Claudia Lacouture, the president of PROCOLOMBIA Colombia.

The strategy started in March this year once the national entrepreneurs and wholesalers from the target markets were identified.  In April and May we prepared the touristic packages the country will be able to offer during the FIFA event and presented them to the international wholesalers.

Now, the commercial missions have as their objective, not only to publicize the country&rsquo s offer in tourism but also to launch the Sub &ndash 20 World Cup in the selected cities. 

There will be a presentation of the country as a touristic destination before the tourism wholesalers, travel agencies and the local press, during each visit. Later on, details will be given on the offer made by each city or region where the Sub 20 World Cup will be played, emphasizing the location where the team of each of the visited countries will be.
 
" The message we are bringing is that Colombia is a country full of possibilities to know, it is open to the world and is always kind to tourists. We are also bringing packages for each city where the World Cup will be held, be it for sun and beach tourism, eco tourism and adventure tourism&rdquo , said Hugo Vé lez, general manager of Panamericana de Viajes. 

The intention is to show that Colombia is a place where the only risk they take is wanting to stay, it is a country that offers great opportunities for the nature tourist for the tourist looking for adventures, thanks to its extensive and varied geography, which is ideal for diving and for those who are looking for beaches it has got places full of history and romance for those who are looking for a honey moon destination it has a wide gastronomical variety and the best coffee in the world and especially, due to the warmth and kindness of the Colombian people.
