International Wholesalers Seeking Destinations for Incentive Travel Visit Cali

One of the tourism market segments with the greatest expected growth in Colombia, incentive travel, will have the opportunity to use its magic to impress the major market players in the continent.

Twenty international entrepreneurs specialized in business tourism will spend three days enjoying the unique experiences Cali offers those who choose it as a destination for incentive travel. The Latin Americans will visit the country at the PROCOLOMBIA' s invitation.

From the May 7 to the 9, the organization will host a tour that will allow the wholesalers to discover the potential of the capital of Valle del Cauca in the incentive travel sector.

Tour operators, who organize these types of trips in countries like Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela, will have a busy schedule in Cali.

The itinerary includes salsa classes with professional dancers, a visit to a sugar mill to learn about the transformation process of sugar cane, and even a hike through the Hacienda El Paraiso, the setting of one of the most famous Colombian literary works: Jorge Isaacs' La María.

" This is the first of a series of fam trips we will organize in 2013, to show the target market of our promotion strategy for this tourism product, that Colombia is a modern and just country with a lot to offer this tourism segment," stated Maria Claudia Lacouture, PROCOLOMBIA President.

After their tour of Cali, the entrepreneurs will visit Medellin and San Andres, cities that are also promoted internationally by PROCOLOMBIA as destinations for convention tourism. According to a study by the International Congress and Conventions Association (ICCA), convention tourism generates an average of 759 dollars each day, three times more than regular tourism.
