PROCOLOMBIA Events Agenda:

Mobile Monday en Bogotá

1. The first Mobile Monday in Colombia will take place this Monday, August 8th, at La Puerta Grande restaurant in Bogota the event brings together world experts from the mobile telephony industry, introducing new trends and business opportunities for the sector.  

During the event, Diego Molano, Minister of Information and Communications Technologies, will present the program " Vive Digital" led by the Government. Also, André s Barreto, one of the founders of the popular search engine Grooveshark, was invited by PROCOLOMBIA to talk about the benefits of web applications for mobile phones.

2. In compliance with the agreements entered into between the Governments of Colombia and Venezuela around tourism, PROCOLOMBIA, with the support of its Caracas office and the regional offices of Cartagena, Pereira and Santa Marta, will carry out a fam-trip between August 5th to the 16th with four representatives from the   official Venezuelan State's outbound tourism operator, Venetur, to display the Colombian offering of the products sun and beach, nature, history and culture. The goal is to showcase the tourism offering in Bogotá , the Coffee Triangle, Cartagena, Santa Marta and San André s.

3.  For the promotion of religious tourism in Colombia through large wholesalers of this tourism category from other countries, PROCOLOMBIA, the Holiday Tourism Management Office and the Cali Regional Office will sponsor the fam-trip between August 12th and 18th on the Spiritual Route of the Americas in Cali, Popayá n, Pasto, Sevilla and Buga.

The trip consists of a journey around the five religious cities in Colombia where the three participating wholesalers, Hectotours from Puerto Rico Salmor Metropromociones from Ecuador, and Turinter from the Dominican Republic, will visit different sanctuaries, churches and religious monuments, as well as the main tourist attractions of each city.

4.  As part of the strategy to promote Colombia as a MICE destination, Mrs. Frances Varela, President of the Prehistorical Travel Agents' Association (APAV) will visit Bogotá for the first time with the support of PROCOLOMBIA and the Bogota Conventions Bureau, in order to validate the Colombian capital as the possible host city of the 2011 convention of the Association, which will be held from October 26th to the 30th, gathering over 100 travel agents from the island. 

The trip will take place from August 10th to the 12th and its main goal will be to promote Colombia and, especially Bogotá , as a world-class destination in Puerto Rico. APAV had already held its convention in Cartagena in 2007, an event captured by Oficom Caribe.

Seven Colombian companies at the Florida International Medical Exposition " FIME" 2011 

5.  As part of the promotion of the Colombian export offering in the medical sector, PROCOLOMBIA organized the trip for domestic companies who will be exhibitors at the Colombia Pavilion at FIME, an event for the sales exhibition of equipment, products, services and technologies for the medical-hospital sector, held every year at the Miami Beach Convention Center. 

For the third time at the fair, to be held between August 10th and the 12th, Colombia will have an exhibition stand with the medical product offering, such as disposable hospital products, nurse care, surgery materials, table ware, diagnosis tools, emergency room equipment, laboratory services, long term care products, dental equipment, rehabilitation and orthopedics products, medical electro-devices, medical services for pharmacies, and much more. 

The participating companies are Los Pinos, Glormed Colombia S.A., Rymco S.A., Laboratorios Eufar S.A., Adhinter S.A.S. (Tecnoquí micas Group), Sigmed and Union Medical.
