The Duty Free Zones in Colombia have been defined as a geographical area that has been duly delimited within the national territory, where a special tax and customs regime applies.

As part of the incentives established by the Colombian legislation for duty free zones, there is a permit to operate under this regime for a term of up to 30 years, extendable for an equal term having a preferential rate for income and supplementary tax, and the exclusion from tariffs and VAT for the goods that come into the Duty Free Zone originating from the rest of the world.
