Colombian Destinations will be on French operators' tourism brochures

Colombian entrepreneurs participating in Top Resa 2011 expressed their satisfaction with the achievements at the Paris Tourism Fair.

Four tour operators from France will include Colombia as one of their target packages, 10 more will follow soon, while Terra Nova Agency confirmed its second trip of 80 people for December this year to the country.

These are some of the results generated by Colombia' s participation in Top Resa 2011, the most important tourism fair that takes place in France, where 12 operators and country promotion agencies showcase Colombian tourism with support from PROCOLOMBIA and the Tourism Promotion Fund of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism. 

The trip of 80 people will travel around Bogota, Cartagena and the Coffee Triangle. Also, several journalists expressed their interest in visiting the Colombian destinations to make them known to their followers in France. 

During Top Resa 2011, the Colombian entrepreneurs have managed to establish direct contacts with French wholesalers and business opportunities with other international operators. As promotional activities, ' aguadeñ o' hats have been given away and a Coffee Cultural Landscape was recreated as part of the recently declared World Heritage Site. 

On the other hand, the Golden Man (el Hombre Dorado), as a representation of the Gold Museum, occupied the central pages of the newspaper of the fair 1,200 cups of coffee and 400 Club Colombia beers have been given away. 

Colombian exhibition stand activations have been very well received by attendees, the Green Strategy has achieved the future planting of 456 trees after the third day of the fair, the Man of Gold, who walks around the site representing the Gold Museum, was on the front page of the daily newspaper, distributed daily to all attendees to date, over 1,200 cups of coffee and 400 Club Colombia beers have been given out.

As reported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism, based on figures from DAS, in 2010 there were 33,878 travelers from France which represented an increase of 11.6% over the previous year. For the first half of 2011, 18,164 French passengers were reported.
