The international quality of Colombian audiovisual productions has generated interest among Spanish producers and others from different countries, who have set their sights on Colombia to develop joint projects.
This is the case of Spanish producers like Notrofilm and Globomedia, who have chosen Colombia to record their productions like Karabudjan and El Corazó n del Oceano, which just started to be filmed in Santa Marta.
With this background, the Colombian Embassy and the Madrid Film Commission will hold the first Colombia-Madrid co-production encounter this May 5th at the Fine Arts Circle (Circulo de Bellas Artes) in the Spanish capital.
The encounter, supported by PROCOLOMBIA, seeks to create alliances for the realization of future bi-national projects and to make attendees familiar with the legal framework from both countries.
The presence of expert producers from Madrid and Colombia is expected, as well as that of the Colombian ambassador to Spain, Orlando Sardi de Lima, and the President of the Entity for Management of Audiovisual Producers' Rights (Entidad de Gestió n de Derechos de los Productores Audiovisuales - EGEDA), among others.
PROCOLOMBIA will illustrate the advantages international producers seeking to penetrate the national film industry have.
Among others are the great photographic potential Colombia has, thanks to the diversity of its landscapes and climates all year round, as well as the security guarantees for investors and the legal facilities granted to the film industry, such as Act 814 of 2003, which created different financial mechanisms seeking to incentivize production.
