PROCOLOMBIA, through its regional office in Cali, organized the seminar " Opportunities to develop investment projects in Colombia: Incentives Legislative Reform" in order to announce the new tributary benefits for investors. .
The objective was to inform of the scopes given by Act 1429 of 2010, for the " Job Formalization and Generation&rdquo and Act 1430 of the same year, especially the new incentives to create new job positions.
A total of 25 entrepreneurs with Direct Foreign Investment in the country attended the seminar. The explanation of the content of the new legislation was given by specialized attorneys from the firm Prieto & Carrizosa who answered all the concerns of the representatives of the attending companies.
The seminar was intended to publicize the new tributary benefits for them to become a useful tool for investors.
Besides, the options and advantages they have to invest in Colombia were also presented. Advantages such as having the most productive work force of South America, because this is the third " friendliest&rdquo country to do business, according to the firm PriceWaterHouseCooper, as well as the fifth country in the world and the first in the region that protects the investors the most, according to the World Bank.
All the above, adds on to the degree of investment given by Standard & Poor's and to the recognition made to Colombia as one of the new BRIC: CIVETS, due to its economy which is diverse and dynamic, which makes the country an attractive destination for the foreign investor.
The positive balance in terms of security was also presented as a determining factor for the investor&rsquo s trust. In this field, according to the Index of World Competitiveness (IMD) 2010, Colombia is the second country that protects the people and the private property the most in Latin America, another reason that enriches the Colombian profile as one of the most attractive destinations for investment in the region and the world.
