Business Matchmaking Forum in Chicago Exceeded USD 47.2 Million in Business Prospects

Canadian entrepreneurs paved the way for business prospects of USD 24.7 million, while the United States did so for USD 22.5 million.

 

 

Prospects of more than USD 47.2 million were generated by the business matchmaking forum held by PROCOLOMBIA in Chicago as part of the organization' s strategy for taking advantage of the free trade agreements.

PROCOLOMBIA' s Vice-president of Exports, Ricardo Vallejo, indicated that buyers from the United States and Canada were present in Chicago.

The most outstanding sector in terms of business prospects reported by the buyers was the apparel sector with USD 21.1 million, followed by agribusiness with USD 15.5 million and manufacturing with USD 10.5 million.

The Canadian entrepreneurs seized the most business opportunities, with a total of USD 24.7 million, while Americans acquired USD 22.5 million in prospects.

Likewise, reports indicate that of the more than 1,630 business meetings held, 44% were for the apparel sector, 40% for agribusiness, and 15% for manufacturing.

Vallejo also highlighted that entrepreneurs from British Columbia, Canada reported the most business prospects, with USD 12.2 million, followed by North Carolina, United States, with USD 7 million, and Ontario, Canada, with 6 million.

PROCOLOMBIA also highlighted that representatives of 76 small and medium enterprises traveled to Chicago as part of the exploratory mission arranged by the organization, so they could get to know how the United States market works in person, as part of their preparation for exporting products to this market.
