American Airlines launches its new route between Dallas/ Fort Worth and Bogota

This represents a new possibility for foreign travelers know why "Colombia is magical realism.&rdquo

 

 

A new direct route operated by the U.S. carrier American Airlines will connect the cities of Dallas (Texas, USA) and Bogota becoming fully operational on November 22nd 2013.

The new route will meet the needs of travelers between the U.S. and Colombia. The following are the departure times for this new frequency:

From Dallas to Bogota
Flight 1123 departs DFW at 6:35 PM arrives in BOG at 1:05 a.m.

From Bogota to Dallas
Flight 1122 departs BOG at 2:05 am arrives in DFW at 7:15 am

" We are confident that our customers will benefit from this new service. The cities of Dallas and Fort Worth are major business and tourism centers and our Dallas / Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport hub allows our customers to access more than 260 destinations around the world, " said Jose Maria Giraldo, Director of American Airlines overseeing Colombia and Ecuador.

Including this new route, American operates 42 flights per week between the U.S. and Colombia, including three daily flights from Bogota to Miami, two daily from Medellin to Miami, and one from Cali to Miami. (during high season).

" The launch of this route is a great opportunity for more tourists from the Midwestern United States to know and enjoy the unique experiences that Colombia has to offer regarding culture, nature, sun and beach segments that we have identified to be more invigorating for that area of the country, " said the president of PROCOLOMBIA, Maria Claudia Lacouture.

PROCOLOMBIA, an organization dedicated to position the country as an international tourist destination, is leveraging its promotional tools so that the country is able to benefit from that connection with strategic markets and in turn increase the arrival of foreign visitors.

Such activities are outlined in the campaign " Colombia is Magic Realism " , a tool that PROCOLOMBIA is employing to tell the world that a mixture of fantasy and reality positions the country as the best selection for holiday travel and major tourist events.

In 2012 there were 319,202 Americans who arrived in Colombia, according to the Colombian Immigration Department making the United States the biggest emitter of foreign travelers to Colombia.
