From the week of October 31st to November 6th 2011, Proexport Colombia will participate in the following national and international events.

Agendas:

PROCOLOMBIA will sign alliances with the Barranquilla and Bogotá Chambers of Commerce

1. With the intent of maximizing the regions' export offering through a set of supplementary services, PROCOLOMBIA will deploy an alliance with the Barranquilla and Bogotá Chambers of Commerce this Monday, October 31st and Tuesday, November 1st, accordingly.

Said alliance, to be signed at the Barranquilla Customs branch and Salitre Chamber of Commerce in Bogota, seeks to engage regional players to participate in the process of preparation of the companies, following the guidelines of the country' s international strategy.

PROCOLOMBIA will assist in this process, providing information on opportunities, products, markets, requirements, channels and strategies to export successfully, and will be in charge of international promotion of the listed companies.


Corporate Tourism Seminars in Barranquilla, Cali and Medellí n

2. PROCOLOMBIA, in alliance with CESO (Canadian Executive Service Organization), continues its circuit of Corporate Tourism Seminars, in compliance with the strategy for international promotion assigned by the National Government and its mission to position Colombia as a world-class destination.

The goal of the seminar is to inform entrepreneurs of the main features upon design of a competitive, exportable tourism offering. The event will provide a unique opportunity to answer questions, clarify concepts and, thus, enable the attraction of international events. The conferences will be conducted by Canadian expert Cecilia Ronderos, whose outstanding 20 years' experience in the tourism sector with knowledge of incentive and convention trips are a guarantee of success.

Canadian and US journalists will learn about the Corporate Tourism offering in Bogotá and Medellí n

3. Intended to showcase Bogotá and Medellí n as world class destinations for Corporate tourism, PROCOLOMBIA invited two journalists from Canada and the United States to visit both cities to display their transformation processes and potential places focusing on the corporate tourism and infrastructure sectors, November 1 to 7.


Corporate tourism promotion in Mexico

4. PROCOLOMBIA, with support from Avianca - TACA Mexico, will offer a business breakfast on November 4 at the Hotel Presidente Intercontinental, intended to introduce Colombia as a potential country for congress, convention and incentive tourism.

The event will gather the leading executives in the sector of tourism, conventions and incentive trips from widely recognized institutions, including companies such as: Ford, Baxter, TV Azteca, Grupo Modelo de Mexico, Grupo Telefó nica de Mexico, Nestlé , Coca Cola and Liverpool, among others.

Avianca - TACA will contribute with a cultural display, featuring the group Estampas Colombianas, directed by Elizabeth Escobar, consisting of a dance that represents folklore from all Colombian regions.


Technical-Health Mission, Colombian Clinics travel to Houston, Texas

5. From November 2 to 4, four Colombian entities will visit the Texas Medical Center in Houston, a world-renowned medical center that congregates several hospitals from different specialties in order to display the Colombian offering as a health destination, and to conduct exchanges of interest for both parties.

For the second time, PROCOLOMBIA will be at the event, seeking to open new doors between Colombia and Texas Medical Center for academic exchanges, better practices and potential understandings between the different entities.


Invest-in-Colombia Promotion in New Delhi

6. In order to introduce Colombia as the best investment destination in Latin America, considering the country has the best Benefit-Cost ratio in the region, PROCOLOMBIA will offer a luncheon with Indian companies whose strategies include the region as an area for expansion.

More than 25 companies from different sectors such as agribusiness, BPO, petrochemical, machinery and equipment from different Indian states, will be present at the event, to be presided by the Vice-Minister of Relations, Monica Lanzetta.

The event will also have the presence of Juan Alfredo Pinto, Colombian Ambassador to India and Alejandro Pelá ez, Director of the Colombian Commercial Representation in India.


Colombia will be at the XXIX International Fair at Havana

7. From October 31 to November 5 at Recinto Ferial Expocuba in Havana (Cuba), PROCOLOMBIA will have an institutional stand, intended to promote the presence in the Cuban market in order to capture new business possibilities.

The event will target government entities and importing and exporting companies from Cuba, of mixed and public capital, and is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment from Cuba, the Cuban Chamber of Commerce and the Havana Convention Palace.

BBVA Convention in Cartagena and inspection trip in Bogotá

8. As part of the Colombian destination diversification strategy, from October 29 to 31, PROCOLOMBIA supports the inspection visit to Bogota by the President of BBVA bank to Puerto Rico and the VP of Targa Meetings, the largest incentives house on the island, in order to validate the destination as the possible host city for its 2012 Convention.

BBVA will hold its Board of Directors Convention in Cartagena with 44 executives from the Board of Directors of the bank in November 2011. As a strategy for the diversification of Colombia as a destination, PROCOLOMBIA introduced Bogotá as the host city for its 2012 Convention.


Exporters at the AAPEX SHOW 2011 automotive fair in Las Vegas

9. PROCOLOMBIA will be present for the fifteenth time at the most important event in the world in the automotive aftermarket sector, called APPEX SHOW 2011, to be held from November 1 to 3 at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas.

To display the Colombian offering in the sector, companies representing Colombia at the event will be American Rubber de Colombiana S.A.S Indymetal y DTC/ Forjin-Industrial Forging/ Industrias Lavco Ltda/ I.N.R. DEMA, Diving Equipment and Marketing Association Trade Show

10. From November 2 to 5 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, PROCOLOMBIA will be present for the fifth time at the most important diving trade show in the world, called DEMA SHOW, in the United States.

It is a fair specializing in Scuba Diving, open only to agencies, stores and buyers in the field of Scuba Diving, with the participation of presidents and executives from Travel Agencies, Tour Operators, stores and buyers.

Colombia in Cruise World Travel Weekly 2011

11. PROCOLOMBIA and Avianca - TACA will be present for the second time at Cruise World Travel Weekly Trade Show in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on November 3 and 4 at the Convention Center, where suppliers will have the opportunity to meet, face to face, with the most influential clients from the North American industry.

The objective will be to present Colombia as a destination country in the cruise line industry, highlighting cities like Cartagena, Santa Marta and San Andres. The event will include the participation of Celebrity Cruises, Cruise Planners, Avoya Travel, Avalon Waterways, Globus, Nexion, Cruise One,
Travel Planners, and CLIA, among others.

Colombia will star on Project Runway Latin America

12. GLITZ Channel, previously Fashion TV for Latin America, will feature the Colombian fashion industry on Project Runway Latin America.

In chapter 10 of this reality show, a search for the new star of Latin American design, and which was won the first time by Colombian Jorge Duque, all five finalists will have the challenge of Colombia: landscapes, traditions, nature and biodiversity will be the source of inspiration to create a look, with Colombian fabric, for a modern and cosmopolitan woman who will wear Colombian jewels and purses.
