More and more Colombian entrepreneurs are taking action to address the crisis and ease the effects of covid-19 pandemic in the South American country.

Entrepreneurs from Colombian creative industries have reacted in solidarity to help maintain productivity and enable citizens to stay in quarantine and prevent the spread of the virus.

Companies such as Rappi, Platzi, Stereotheque, Mi Águila, Truora, World Tech Makers and Frubana, are part of the initiative ‘Industries 4.0 ambassadors’ lead by the Country Brand Colombia and ProColombia to stimulate the arrival of more foreign direct investment to the digital enterprises of the country and train other entrepreneurs to help them formalize their business ideas and entrepreneurial skills.

“Colombia is a resilient country that turns difficulties into opportunities to grow and to move forward. Our 4.0 Country Brand Ambassadors have responded to the call for solidarity made by President Ivan Duque, and their contributions undoubtedly contribute to alleviating the situation we are going through. We are very proud of each one of them”, said Flavia Santoro, president of ProColombia.

These are some of the actions that the Country Brand Ambassadors are carrying out:

Musicians and bands will be able to promote their talent through Stereotheque

Stereoteque is a platform that connects experienced professionals and music students, makes available to musicians, artists and creatives, the generation of press articles to publicize new talents and greater dissemination on social networks and streaming services such as YouTube, Spotify and Apple Music.

The music and entertainment industries have been hit hard by COVID-19, making revenue generation almost exclusively dependent on the consumption of digital music and video. For this reason, Stereoteque seeks to help artists by publishing articles that can be shared and socialized to increase traffic in music and video reproductions.

Rappi, contactless home delivery and free delivery food to health professionals

The Rappi home platform announced the delivery of free food to 500,000 health professionals, in recognition of the efforts to address the health emergency in the country on behalf of COVID-19.

Likewise, and as an additional prevention measure, a contactless home delivery option is being implemented, in which users and Rappitenderos have no contact whatsoever. The application also encourages hand washing and self-care, as well as the importance of sealing delivery bags in restaurants and allied businesses.

 

In alliance with the Mayor's Office of Bogotá and the Government of Cundinamarca, a modern artificial intelligence system "Sisar" or intelligent bot was launched, which will allow citizens to make a self-diagnosis of their health by filling out a survey that will send an automatic notification to the Ministry of Health, an entity that will receive the information and will have a technical team that will be performing the appropriate monitoring and follow-up.

World Tech Makers, technology kits for children’s education

The technology-based company focused on education joined forces with Rappi to contribute to the supply of educational technology solutions in the country. Starting on March 30 and for the purchase of an educational kit on skills of the 4th revolution, World Tech Maker will donate one with the same characteristics to a student with limited resources or from rural schools in the country.

The educational kits will be available through Rappi, at a cost of COP $85,000 per unit and will allow access to up to 15,000 students (initially) from public or rural schools annually. With an innovative methodology that teaches technology through 25 types of hobbies - including yoga, sports, biology, agriculture, astronomy, film, cooking, music, art, among others - and more than 360 online videos, World Tech hopes to multiply its impact in Colombia during these times of crisis.

Truora created a platform for verification of persons who are authorized to circulate during preventive isolation.

With the endorsement of the Presidency of the Republic through the Ministry of Digital Transformation and iNNpulsa Colombia, this platform is available to mayors and governors throughout the country since March 25. This resource will make it easier for the authorities to control the movement of authorized persons during the validity of this important measure.

Platzi, during the quarantine, teaches personal finance and remote work

Platzi, the largest online technology education platform in Latin America, launched its remote work course available openly until April 30th.The course brings together the pioneers of teleworking who teach existing digital tools and effective methodologies to maintain productivity from home. The platform also opened the personal finance program, ideal for learning how to make responsible decisions in times of crisis.

Frubana will facilitate marketplace donations to underprivileged families

The Frubana application, a platform specialized in commercialize fruits and vegetables by connecting the field directly with restaurants, has launched the campaign "it's in your hands", with the creation of a market kit with the nutritional content and products from the family basket equivalent to a week's feeding, which can be donated by users of the platform with the purchase of the kits for a commercial value of COP $50,000.

Donations can be made through https://donaciones.frubana.com/. The application also has the Community Leaders program, where anyone can work from home selling Frubana products, ensuring supply and commissions.

Mi Aguila will transport markets, medicines and vital personnel

The legally constituted transport application is joined by the #SomosUno campaign to transport vital personnel to hospitals, pharmacies, food factories, control centers, among others. It will also contribute with the delivery of groceries, medicines and basic implements for citizens to stay at home.

About the Country Brand Ambassador program

The 4.0 industries ambassadors are added to the other 24 personalities that have been named ambassadors of the Country Brand such as Esteban Cortázar, Alexis Play, Alkilados, el 'Cholo' Valderrama, Elkin Robinson, Fonseca, Herencia de Timbiquí, Irie Kingz, Juan Pablo Vega, Maía, La Mamba Negra, Mr. Black, María Mulata, Martina La Peligrosa, Piso 21, Puerto Candelaria, Sebastián Yatra and Yuri Buenaventura, among others.

This nomination seeks to contribute to improve Colombia's image through the dissemination of good news that happens in the country, through social networks and channels of dissemination of the ambassadors, among other scenarios.
