Museums, public spaces, theme parks, haciendas, and convention centers in the country became more attractive to foreign entrepreneurs looking for places to hold their corporate events, congresses, and incentive trips. This actually increased the number of tourists by 13.6% in the last three years as a result of events.

US journalists were invited by Columbia with the support from ProColombia, the entity in charge of promoting exports, foreign investment and tourism in Colombia, to tour several places with heavy rain conditions such as the Iguaque National Park in Boyaca sitting at 11,800 feet high and Chingaza Park in the department of Cundinamarca, where they walked amidst a 400-year old historical cloud forest.

If only 1% of the registered companies in Colombia internationalized their products or services, the country’s exporting capacity would double. Such breakthrough is attainable in the long term as Colombian companies have what it takes to succeed.

Colombia is a great avocado producer, despite international statistics not reflecting it. Nowadays it produces approximately 220,000 tonnes of various varieties. The country has between 20,000 and 22,000 hectares devoted to the crop, of which 9,000 correspond to Hass, the variety with the best prospects.
